4 common maintenance methods for steam generators

Steam generators are special manufacturing auxiliary equipment. Due to their long operation time and relatively high working pressure, we must perform maintenance and repairs when we use steam generators on a daily basis. What are the commonly used maintenance methods?
01. Pressure maintenance
When the shutdown time does not exceed one week, pressure maintenance can be selected. That is, before the steam generator shuts down, fill the steam-water system with water, keep the residual pressure at (0.05~0.1) Pa, and keep the pot water temperature above 100 degrees to prevent air from entering the furnace.
Maintenance measures: The adjacent furnace is heated by steam, or the furnace is heated on time to ensure the working pressure and temperature of the steam generator furnace body.
02. Wet maintenance
When the steam generator furnace is out of use for less than one month, wet maintenance can be used. Wet maintenance: Fill the furnace steam-water system with soft water full of alkali solution, leaving no steam space. An aqueous solution with moderate alkalinity forms a stable oxide film on the metal surface to prevent corrosion.
Maintenance measures: During the wet maintenance process, use a low-fire oven on time to keep the outside of the heating surface dry. Turn on the pump on time to circulate water and add lye appropriately.
03. Dry maintenance
When the steam generator furnace body is out of use for a long time, dry maintenance can be used. Dry maintenance refers to the method of placing desiccant in the steam generator pot and furnace body for protection.
Maintenance measures: drain the pot water after stopping the furnace, use the residual temperature of the furnace body to dry the furnace body, clean the scale in the pot regularly, put the desiccant tray into the drum and on the grate, and turn off everything. Valves, manholes, and handhole doors should be replaced with expired desiccants on time.
04.Inflatable maintenance
Inflatable maintenance is used for long-term furnace shutdown maintenance. After the steam generator is shut down, it cannot be drained, so that the water level is kept at the high water level, and the furnace body is properly deoxygenated, and then the steam generator pot water is isolated from the outside world.

Enter nitrogen or ammonia to keep the working pressure at (0.2~0.3) Pa after inflation. Therefore, nitrogen can be converted into nitrogen oxide with oxygen, so that oxygen cannot come into contact with the steel plate.

Maintenance measures: Ammonia dissolves in water to make the water alkaline, which can effectively prevent oxygen corrosion, so nitrogen and amino are both good preservatives. The inflation maintenance function is good, which ensures that the steam water system of the steam generator furnace body has good tightness.
